    Timothy Armoo

Timothy Armoo, widely known as Timo Armoo, is a British entrepreneur, investor, global speaker and bestselling author. He became best known for building Fanbytes, a youth-focused marketing company that helped major brands connect with Generation Z. He started the business while still at university and sold it to Brainlabs in 2022 in a multi-eight-figure deal.

He started his first venture at 14 and sold another company at 17. Failed start-ups, trading losses and hard lessons came before Fanbytes became a major success. Today, he works through Legon Influence, invests, speaks internationally and writes about business and personal growth.

Timothy Armoo Age, Birth and Nationality

Timothy Armoo was born in October 1994. Companies House confirms his birth month and year, British nationality and residence in the United Kingdom. As of August 2026, he is 31 years old and will turn 32 in October 2026. His exact day of birth has not been confirmed through an official company record, so October 1994 is the safest date to use. He spent part of his childhood in Ghana before moving to London at the age of 10. His early years are closely linked with South London, including the Old Kent Road area.

Timothy Armoo Early Life and Family

    Childhood in Ghana and London

Armoo has spoken openly about living in Ghana while his mother was based in London. In a Mother’s Day message in March 2024, he explained that she paid him to read books and write summaries. Money was limited, yet she still encouraged his education and curiosity. He also recalled how she arranged for travellers to take him books and favourite foods. He later moved to London at 10. These experiences helped build habits that later mattered in his career.

    Timothy Armoo Mother and Parents

His mother remains an important person in his life. He has thanked her for spelling tests, books, Bible verses, long talks and unconditional love. In August 2025, he shared a birthday message for her and joked that although he could now give her almost anything, she still preferred fish and chips. Her full name, age and occupation have not been firmly established. Accounts of his childhood also describe him joining his father in London.

    Education of Timothy Armoo

Armoo attended the City of London Academy from 2005 to 2011. He won student awards in English, Geography and Theology and worked as editor-in-chief of the student magazine Vocalize. He later attended Christ’s Hospital from 2011 to 2013, studying Maths, Economics, History and English at A-level. He created CH Speaks, a public-speaking competition that gave students a platform to discuss ideas they cared about.

He then studied Computer Science at the University of Warwick. While there, he helped create the Warwick Internship Programme, connecting students with fast-growing start-ups, and co-founded the Warwick Women in Entrepreneurship Conference.

Timothy Armoo Business Journey Before Fanbytes

    Alpha Tutoring at 14

His first venture was Alpha Tutoring, started in 2009 when he was 14. He has said it began as part of a bet. Within six weeks, he built a network of 65 tutors serving clients across London. The business later failed because tutors and customers began arranging lessons directly.

    EntrepreneurExpress and First Exit

At 17, he co-founded EntrepreneurExpress, an online business publication. He handled writing, sales, marketing and advertising while interviewing business figures including Richard Branson, Alan Sugar and James Caan. The company was acquired after roughly 11 months. Armoo has said he sold it for £110,000. Companies House also connects him with EntrepreneurXpress Ltd, where he became a director in April 2012.

    Failed Ventures and Early Lessons

Success did not continue in a straight line. He has described losing much of his early money through trading after becoming overconfident. He then launched Giverr, Bandzie and Doodlar. They failed for different reasons, including weak technical ability, poor product-market fit and limited sales skill. He also worked briefly in business development at Bar Pass Limited in 2014, gaining a closer view of how start-ups operate.

    Timothy Armoo and Fanbytes

    Building Fanbytes at University

Armoo co-founded Fanbytes in 2017 with Ambrose Cooke and Mitchell Fasanya while still at university. The company helped brands communicate with younger audiences through creators and platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube.

He has said Fanbytes reached £400,000 in revenue during its first year. Growth continued even after investors rejected the idea because they thought youth-focused influencer marketing was a passing trend. Fanbytes later worked with Nike, Samsung, H&M, Estée Lauder, Ubisoft, Mattel and the UK Government. The team expanded strongly, with Armoo describing a workforce that reached about 80 people.

    Fanbytes Sale to Brainlabs

Brainlabs acquired Fanbytes in May 2022. Armoo was 27. The exact purchase price was not released by Brainlabs, but Armoo and later publisher material have described the transaction as a multi-eight-figure deal. He retained a large ownership position, so the sale created substantial personal wealth and opened the way to investing, speaking and new business work.

    Timothy Armoo Net Worth

Timothy Armoo has stated that he reached a £30 million net worth before turning 30, and the same figure was used by major British media in 2026. For that reason, £30 million is the strongest current estimate connected with his personal wealth. The figure remains an estimate rather than an audited personal balance sheet. His wealth comes from the Fanbytes exit and later investments, including index funds, shares, agriculture, uranium and lithium.

He has also said that by age 30 he owned a private equity business doing £47 million a year. This is his own description, and there is no full financial breakdown explaining exactly how that £47 million figure is calculated.

Timothy Armoo Wife, Girlfriend and Personal Life

No reliable source confirms that Timothy Armoo has a wife. He previously had a long-term relationship with a woman he met at university. In a 2025 interview, he explained that the relationship ended amicably in 2024. After the breakup, he spent time single and later said he was actively dating. He had used Hinge and Raya but spoke critically about parts of app-based dating. As of August 2026, there is no confirmed marriage or new long-term partner that can be stated as fact.

In August 2026, he wrote that ambition should not make people delay living, encouraging people to call their parents, meet friends and celebrate small moments.

Timothy Armoo Book: What’s Stopping You?

A Number One Sunday Times Bestseller

Armoo wrote What’s Stopping You?: 11 Cheatcodes to Unlock the Life You Want. It was published in January 2026 by Michael Joseph, part of Penguin, and became an instant number one Sunday Times bestseller. He has described it as the book he wanted his 21-year-old self to have. It focuses on self-doubt, fear, ego, hesitation and taking action.

Timothy Armoo Speaker and Current Work

Armoo works as a global speaker through Legon Influence. Since January 2026, his LinkedIn experience has included a full-time global speaking role. His talks cover Generation GPT, innovation, Gen Z marketing, intergenerational work culture and lessons from hiring and leading hundreds of people.

He is also a business builder and investor. Companies House shows him as a Legon Influence Ltd director from November 2020, while LinkedIn dates his founder role to October 2023. Some UK speaker agencies place his fee between £10,000 and £15,000 per event.

    Timothy Armoo Companies House Record

Companies House records five appointments connected with him. Legon Influence Ltd remains active, while Bytesized Talent Limited, Bytesized Limited and EntrepreneurXpress Ltd are dissolved. Bandzie Ltd entered liquidation, and he resigned as its director in April 2022. He became a director of Legon Influence Ltd on 23 November 2020. Company records also show that he holds strong control over the business through ownership and voting rights.

    Awards, Social Media and Recognition

Armoo was selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe in Media and Marketing in 2021. He has also received a Huffington Post Young Entrepreneur Award and previously won the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. His work with TEDx Warwick included external relations and sponsorship.

In August 2026, his Instagram account @timarmoo had about 514,000 followers, his X account @TimArmoo had about 10,100 followers, and LinkedIn showed more than 218,000 followers. His content focuses on scaling companies, selling businesses, investing, career lessons and building a meaningful life.

    Timothy Armoo Today

At 31, Timothy Armoo has moved from teenage entrepreneur to business owner, investor, author and international speaker, with major wins, costly mistakes and failed ventures along the way. From reading books in Ghana to building ventures in London, studying at Warwick and creating Fanbytes, his progress has been shaped by repeated attempts rather than a smooth rise.

His current work combines business building, investing, speaking and writing. With a bestselling book, a large online audience and continuing commercial activity through Legon Influence, he remains one of the most visible young British entrepreneurs of his generation.
